7robotics is a company that we started to provide automated robotic solutions for our customers. We typically deal with custom, special, one-off projects. This project we are doing with WEBER is one of those projects; it's pretty custom. So the reason we bought the robot was to make a product that goes into decorative interior millwork. So things that fill up the commercial space.
Our main goal with automating this process was basically consistency; The easy change-over to create better efficiency in building this product and have a larger capacity. My overall experience in integrating the solution worked great. Their documentation was fantastic, any time we needed support they were always there to help out when we needed it. A lot of it was self-explanatory, and didn’t take much training to know how to work on it.
They provided a really good quality solution at a reasonable price compared to other vendors. Their build quality is phenomenal and their screwdriver takes apart very easily. It's almost like a Lego kit. You push things and they snap and fit together. It has quick-release latches to disassemble it without tools. It has a high-quality sensor for depth, having active feedback on the depth as well as some other programming features such as torque and rotational position allows us to make sure we get that nail head nice and flush.
No issues, very tight tolerances, and you could tell right off the bat it was built well and easy to work on. Overall it has been a very favorable improvement for us because it has allowed us to consistently make the product. It's been a favorable impact for us overall.
