Addressing Automated Screwdriving Challenges: How to Drive Screws into Deep Counterbores

Featured Image

A deep counterbore requires you to drive the screw beyond the surface level of the part. As the length of the screw is shorter than the hole’s total depth, reaching the required torque at the right position requires a unique screwdriving solution. This requires a way to fix the screw in place until you reach the required depth before starting the driving operation.

With WEBER Screwdrivng, the vacuum feed head and bit design of the SEV fixtured system allows you to reach deeper recesses. The system self-advances the bit stroke to the required depth using a vacuum force before exposing the fastener and driving the screw. This allows you to reach those deep counterbores and seat your screws with torque, angle and depth control according to the specifications every time.

We’re here to make automation easy. Start optimizing your automated assembly operations with unique screwdriving solutions from WEBER.
