Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Application Engineer is responsible for the development and oversight of all projects. Continuous interfacing is required with all internal departments, and external customers, to keep projects moving along and all gates achieved on time. This includes new project evaluation, initial specification of machinery, and working with Engineering, Project Management, and Assembly to clearly communicate the customer needs and quoted expectations to be successful.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Leverage technical product and application knowledge to provide high quality solutions to automation challenges.

  • Interface with outside sales team, and directly with customers to get all application details needed to generate a proper quotation.

  • Work with the Applications Engineers to determine the right system solution for potential sales.

  • Work with the Project Management Team to assist with administrative project management tasks.

  • Oversee project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, complete, and properly filed and stored.

  • Direct project correspondents by preparing and reviewing project proposals, information, meeting minutes, and emails.

  • Participate in project design meetings to ensure quality allocation of all project-related information.

  • Communicate with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Technical Teams to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.

  • Analyze, process, and document all phases of the sales order, from receipt of the order to delivery of the product.

  • Oversee product and quote training for the sales team.

     

    Marketing liaison
  • Work with the existing Marketing firm (Trending Up) to maximize the effectiveness of the program.

  • Be willing to collaborate with Trending Up on campaigns to ensure that we build the brand and work towards reinforcing the fact that WEBER is “The Best There Is” and keep our customers informed.

  • Small in-house process/solution specific video / white paper documentation to build a library of knowledge for reference by public and another for internal use only to maintain IP.

     

    Development of stable quoting process incorporating the new SAE plug-in for SAP
  • Head up the integration of SAE for quotations and quote management.

  • Document the process and train specific sales on how to use SAE and keep it updated.

  • Identify any user obstacles or difficulties and interface with the IT team at WEBER Germany for any needed updates and or corrections to maintain usability and efficiency.

  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills. Must be able to recognize priorities and have strong attention to detail, even under pressure.

  • Team-management and leadership skills

  • Documentation management and ability to use project management tools.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

Experience in CAD manipulation, blueprint reading, and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred experience
in SAP, automated assembly equipment, and high mechanical aptitude.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions,
and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form.
