BNE 11 - Expander Plugs:
These systems are used to fill the hole created during the manufacturing of castings in steel, iron and aluminum. The need for these galleries is for oil or other fluids to flow in the engine, pump or valve body casting and is usually done by drilling and / or reaming. The old method which was pressing a ball bearing into the hole and peaning it over, and was prone to “leakers” has been replaced by a plug device that can be expanded and ‘set’ at a specific force and will seal tightly to resist more than 2500 psi. Various manufacturers make the plugs, but Weber has the technology to install them correctly. There are hand held (usually air/over hydraulic devices ) but these are not usually reliable enough and accurate enough for high volume work, and they offer no way to know if it was installed correctly. The next level up in this product is the measurement and reporting of the force and distance used to set the insert during every install, giving the customer a running database of all actions on the system and is a superb quality assurance tool over the traditional hand installed systems.

BNE 11  - Pull Rivets or Pop Rivets:
These systems are extremely close in design to the expander plug systems and have the same base technology implemented in them. Pop rivets generally require less pull force to set the rivet, and the force way measurement option is an available “quality assurance” method which will provide real time and archive data to monitor and control the process. It also can be used to monitor the quality and consistency of the part and rivets.
The system will pull, and remove the Pop Rivet stem from the application and drop them into a container, and using an inductive ring presence sensor will ensure that there are no jams. The complete range of Weber bowlfeed systems or Stepfeed units are a great addition to this equipment and provide high volume setting capability.
